Let It Be (Deluxe Edition): The Replacements' Iconic Album Reimagined

The Replacements are set to release a deluxe edition of their iconic 1984 album, Let It Be, on October 24th. This reissue will feature remastered tracks and additional unreleased studio and live recordings. The collection will be available in vinyl and CD formats and includes alternate versions of songs like “Gary’s Got A Boner” and “Favorite Thing,” as well as previously unreleased outtakes such as “Who’s Gonna Take Us Alive” and “Street Girl.” An alternate version of “Androgynous” with a different vocal take and full piano intro will be included, along with all five bonus tracks from the 2008 Expanded Edition, newly remastered for this release.
The deluxe edition will also contain a previously unreleased 28-song live show recorded in August 1984 at the Cubby Bear in Chicago, titled Goodnight! Go Home! This concert captures The Replacements performing a variety of songs, including tracks from Let It Be and cover versions like Bad Company’s “Can’t Get Enough.” An exclusive bonus 10-inch vinyl release, Live at City Garden, will be available through Rhino.com, featuring a six-song soundboard recording from a show at the Trenton, New Jersey punk club. This release includes a rare performance of the ballad “You’re Getting Married,” a birthday request from the band’s original manager and co-producer of Let It Be, Peter Jesperson.
The Let It Be (Deluxe Edition) will offer fans a comprehensive look at The Replacements’ iconic album, with remastered tracks, unreleased material, and a live show capturing the band’s energy and raw talent. This reissue is a must-have for fans of the band and a valuable addition to any music collection.
