Grace Kelley: Overcoming Trauma and Finding Redemption

Grace Kelley, the daughter of country star Wynonna Judd, has come forward with allegations of sexual abuse against her former stepfather, D. R. Roach. Judd was married to Roach from 2003 to 2007, and the abuse came to light when Roach was arrested and charged with sexual battery against a minor. Kelley, who was 10 years old at the time of the abuse, revealed that Judd initially tried to address the situation through counseling but eventually divorced Roach after the extent of his abuse was revealed.

Currently, Judd is caring for Kelley's 3-year-old daughter, Kaliyah, in addition to her son Elijah. Kelley has faced legal troubles over the years, including multiple arrests and a recent six-week jail sentence. Despite her difficult past, Kelley has since moved to Charlottesville, Va., where she has found sobriety and religion. She is working on a memoir titled "Pronoia" to share her complex life story.

Judd, who shares her two children with her first husband Arch Kelley III, expressed devastation upon filing for divorce from Roach in 2007. Roach is listed as an active offender against children in the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry, having pleaded guilty to criminal attempt to commit aggravated sexual battery. Judd has spoken publicly about the aftermath of her divorce from Roach, emphasizing the importance of moving forward with faith and family support.

In a statement to Oprah Winfrey in 2010, Judd revealed that she went into "mama bear mode" after Roach's arrest and focused on protecting her children. She has also shared her own experiences with sexual abuse in the documentary "The Judd Family: Truth Be Told." Judd emphasized the importance of healing and moving forward from traumatic experiences.
