Gold Crown Foundation's Healthy Kids Expo: Promoting Wellness and Fun for Children and Families
The Gold Crown Foundation provides youth sports and education programs, with approximately 15,000 children participating each year in activities such as basketball, flag football, golf, volleyball, and STEM programs. The Foundation focuses on three main pillars: sports performance, sports nutrition, and mental health. Former Nuggest basketball player and coach Bill Hanzlik, a co-founder of the Gold Crown Foundation, emphasizes the importance of physical activity for children's well-being. The Foundation is hosting its 3rd annual Healthy Kids Expo, offering a range of sports and healthy activities for kids and their families to enjoy. Activities include inflatable obstacle courses, basketball skills drills, yoga, yard games provided by DICK's Sporting Goods, an outdoor roller rink by The Colorado Avalanche, and free hockey sticks for participants. Additionally, there will be well-being activities like making bookmarks, financial literacy education, and creating healthy snacks. The event will feature appearances by sports personalities such as Chris Dempsey, the Nuggets and NBA reporter for Altitude Sports, the Broncos Cheerleaders, and mascots from various teams. Mini-camps in volleyball, flag football, basketball, and dance will be conducted by coaches and athletes. The Foundation's mission is to prepare kids for the game of life by instilling values such as teamwork, character, commitment, and responsibility through sports and other activities. Join the Healthy Kids Expo to engage in fun and educational experiences that promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
