MSNBC Rebrands as MS NOW: A New Era of News and Opinion Journalism

MSNBC is set to undergo a significant rebranding as it separates from NBCUniversal and becomes part of the Versant empire. The cable news network will drop the NBC from its name and be known as MS NOW, which stands for My Source News Opinion World. This change, announced by Versant CEO Mark Lazarus, emphasizes the network's focus on delivering breaking news and opinion journalism.
The transition to MS NOW will occur in the coming months once the separation process is complete. Along with the name change, a new logo for MS NOW has been revealed, maintaining the network's signature red and blue colors while moving away from the peacock logo associated with NBCUniversal. The decision to rebrand reflects a strategic shift for the network under its new leadership.
MSNBC has seen several changes since the announcement of the spin-off, including leadership transitions and adjustments to its programming lineup. The network has also expanded its team and relocated its staff to a temporary workspace known as "summer camp." To promote the name change to MS NOW, MSNBC plans to launch a comprehensive marketing campaign to raise awareness among viewers and stakeholders.
In addition to MSNBC, other cable networks under Versant, such as CNBC and Golf Channel, will also undergo logo changes to align with the new branding strategy. CNBC will retain its name, while sports programming from USA Network and Golf Channel will be consolidated under the new brand USA Sports. These changes reflect Versant's commitment to redefining its network portfolio and enhancing its offerings in the media landscape.
