King Charles' Summer Kickoff at Balmoral Castle: A Royal Reception and Pony Parade

King Charles kicked off his summer holiday at Balmoral Castle with a warm reception this morning. Dressed in a tweed jacket and tartan kilt, the King inspected a Guard of Honour from Balaklava Company, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland in a small ceremony outside the Castle Gates. He also met the mischievous Shetland pony mascot, Corporal Cruachan IV, known for his playful antics at ceremonial events.
Despite his reputation for mischief, the pony behaved impeccably during the ceremony. King Charles took the time to greet well-wishers outside the gates after the official proceedings, enjoying the sunny weather and engaging with the crowd.
The King and Queen are set to spend their summer in Scotland until mid-September before heading to Windsor Castle for an official state visit with Donald Trump. During their time at Balmoral, they will relax with their families and participate in local events, including the Braemar Games at the beginning of September.
