Unleashing the Future: Corvette's CX.R Vision Gran Turismo Racecar
Corvette has teamed up with Gran Turismo's designers to create the stunning CX.R Vision Gran Turismo (VGT) racecar. Gran Turismo, known for its popular driving simulator games, has a history of collaborating with automakers to create unique concept cars. The CX.R VGT is a futuristic vision of Corvette GT racing, designed for gamers to experience in Gran Turismo 7. This racecar pays homage to Corvette's racing heritage with its iconic yellow and black color scheme, reminiscent of past Le Mans winners.
The CX.R VGT features a more aggressive design compared to the standard Corvette CX, with enhanced aerodynamics and a lower ride height for increased downforce and grip on the track. The interior of the car has been upgraded with lightweight carbon fiber materials and suede-wrapped seats for optimal performance and driver comfort. Under the hood, the CX.R VGT is powered by a high-revving, mid-mounted, twin-turbo 2.0-liter V8 engine producing 900 horsepower and capable of revving up to 15,000 rpm.
In addition to the V8 engine, the CX.R VGT is equipped with three electric motors – one for each front wheel and a third integrated into the 8-speed gearbox – resulting in a total system output of 2,000 hp. This supercar runs on renewable e-fuel and features an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission to deliver a thrilling driving experience. For gaming enthusiasts, Chevrolet will release the CX.R VGT racecar concept in Gran Turismo 7, allowing players to virtually experience the power and performance of the Corvette in action.
