Charisma Carpenter recently addressed fan speculation about her potential return to the iconic role of Cordelia Chase in the upcoming Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot. In a TikTok video, she clarified that she is not involved in the reboot and has not had any discussions about reprising her role. Carpenter also launched a Buffy rewatch podcast called The Bitch Is Back, emphasizing that the title does not hint at her return to the Buffyverse.
Carpenter's statement follows her previous comments expressing hope to be included in the new series, citing the unresolved fate of her character in the original show. Cordelia was a key character in the early seasons of Buffy and continued her role in the Angel spinoff before meeting a tragic end in the final season. Despite character deaths in the Buffy universe, Carpenter's return remains uncertain.
The Buffy reboot, currently in development at Hulu, will be directed by Chloé Zhao and written by Nora and Lilla Zuckerman. The cast includes Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, and a mix of new and returning actors. The series aims to honor the original characters while introducing new storylines and characters. Fans can expect a fresh take on the beloved supernatural world of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
