Aston Villa FC Pays Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne: A Legendary Homecoming

Aston Villa FC recently paid tribute to the late singer Ozzy Osbourne at their first game of the new football season. Ozzy, who played his final show at Villa Park, the club's home ground, passed away at the age of 76. The tribute included a video honoring Ozzy's legacy and a performance by Bostin' Brass, the band that played at his funeral procession. The club also opened a book of condolences and commissioned a mural at the nearby Holte Pub featuring Ozzy's image and the words 'Ozzy Forever.'
Ozzy, who grew up in the Birmingham suburb of Aston, had a strong connection to Aston Villa, as he lived close to Villa Park during his childhood. The club has previously featured Ozzy's music during team walkouts and even released a limited edition shirt in collaboration with Adidas that paid homage to Ozzy and Geezer Butler, the bassist of Black Sabbath and a diehard Villa fan. Ozzy expressed his gratitude for the honor and his love for the club's colors, purple and black.
The Back To The Beginning show, which took place at Villa Park on July 5, featured a star-studded lineup and marked Ozzy's final performance. Following his passing on July 22, his bandmates and fellow musicians shared heartfelt tributes to the iconic singer. The club's tribute to Ozzy was a fitting acknowledgment of his legendary status and his deep connection to Aston Villa. The Prince Of Darkness will always be remembered for his contributions to music and his love for his hometown team.
