Parcels Set to Release Third Album LOVED: A Return to Carefree Indie Pop

Parcels, the five-man band hailing from Byron Bay, Australia, Berlin, and Germany, is set to release their third album, LOVED, on September 12. The album was recorded in various locations, including Germany, Mexico, and Australia, and captures the essence of carefree days spent in the sunshine, as vocalist-guitarist Jules Crommelin describes. The band, known for their indie pop sound, wanted to return to their roots of making music for the sheer joy of it, away from the pressures of the industry.

Following a successful spring/summer tour that included performances at Coachella, Primavera Sound, and Glastonbury, Parcels is gearing up for a 12-city North American tour in support of LOVED. The band draws inspiration from a variety of sources for the album, including the nostalgic pop sound of Katy Perry's earlier hits and the experimental jazz vibes of a transcendent concert experience in Los Angeles.

The band also found inspiration in the raw simplicity of John Lennon's early recordings with Phil Spector, aiming to capture the essence of live performance and spontaneity in their own music. The recording process for LOVED was a return to a carefree and fun approach, reminiscent of their days growing up in sunny Byron Bay, where they spent time surfing and enjoying the simple pleasures of life.

With LOVED, Parcels aims to channel a sense of nostalgia and fun, drawing on influences from their past and present experiences. The album reflects a desire to return to a simpler time and place, where music was made for the love of it, without overthinking or overanalyzing. As the band prepares for their upcoming tour, they are excited to share their new music with fans and continue to evolve their sound in new and exciting ways.
