Rennick Hendrickson Commits to Minnesota Duluth Men's Hockey Program: A Rising Star from Shattuck St. Mary's

Rennick Hendrickson, a forward from Shattuck St. Mary’s, has committed to the Minnesota Duluth men’s hockey program, making him the first player from the high school class of 2027 to join the Bulldogs. Eligible junior hockey players can now take official visits to schools and make verbal commitments. Hendrickson, 16, hails from Excelsior and comes from a hockey family, with his father being a former Minnesota Wild player and assistant coach. He has two older brothers currently playing college hockey, with one of them being a Boston Bruins draft pick.
Standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 152 pounds, Hendrickson played bantam hockey in Minnetonka before transferring to Shattuck. He had a successful season with Shattuck’s U16 AAA team, contributing 10 goals and 23 assists on their way to a national championship. Prior to that, he had a strong performance with the U15 AAA team, tallying 11 goals and 34 assists in the 2023-24 season.
Minnesota Duluth now has two commitments from Shattuck, a renowned hockey academy in Faribault, including 17-year-old forward Luke Puchner. Additionally, the Bulldogs will welcome Shattuck alum Daniel Shlaine, who played for the academy in 2023-24 and spent the last season with the Lincoln Stars in the USHL. Rennick Hendrickson's rights in the USHL are owned by the Dubuque Fighting Saints.
