TERF Awards Over $60,000 in Education Grants to Support Thoroughbred Health and Welfare

The Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation (TERF) has awarded over $60,000 in education grants to nine organizations. TERF's mission is to support Thoroughbred health and welfare by providing scholarships to students pursuing veterinary careers, educating racing stakeholders, and supporting equine research to make racing safer. Dr. James Orsini and Dr. Kathleen Anderson serve as Co-Chairs of TERF and express gratitude for the financial support and guidance from the Trustees.
The Board of Directors of TERF carefully selected this year's grant recipients through a competitive grant-making process. The organizations chosen to receive grant awards align with TERF's strategic focus and vision. The recipients of this year's education and scholarship funding from TERF include Amplifying Horse Racing, Belmont Child Care Association, Inc., Maryland Horse Foundation, MidAtlantic Horse Rescue, National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame, Retired Racehorse Project, Thoroughbred Horseman's Association, Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, and Wilson College.
TERF's grants reflect the values established by founders Herb and Ellen Moelis. The current Board of TERF includes Co-Chairs Kathleen Anderson, DVM and James Orsini, DVM, along with other dedicated members.
