The Gaslight Anthem: Reunion, Recording, and Resurgence

The Gaslight Anthem, known for their unique blend of Jersey Shore punk and heartland narratives, made a comeback after an eight-year hiatus on March 25, 2022. Their reunion was announced through a simple Instagram post, marking their return from the 2015 split. The band released "History Books," featuring rock legend Bruce Springsteen on the title track. In 2018, they briefly reunited to celebrate the tenth anniversary of their second album, "The '59 Sound."
The band headed to Tarquin Studios in Bridgeport, Connecticut, in October 2022 to begin recording their new album, starting with the track "Positive Change." Working with producer Peter Katis, they spent months in the studio, immersing themselves in the creative process. The recording sessions not only produced new music but also helped the band members reconnect and rediscover their musical chemistry.
Lead singer Brian Fallon took the reins in crafting all ten tracks on the album, showcasing a mix of raw energy in songs like "Little Fires" and "Empires," along with the standout collaboration with Bruce Springsteen on the title track. With Alex Levine on bass, Benny Horowitz on drums, and Alex Rosamilia on lead guitar, the band's sound remained solid and cohesive throughout the recording process.
During their live performances, The Gaslight Anthem draws from a catalog of songs spanning six albums. Guitarist Alex Rosamilia emphasized the band's commitment to keeping their live shows fresh by varying their setlists regularly. Looking ahead, the band is already discussing plans for future projects, indicating that they are back and ready to continue creating music together.
