AlumniFi Field: Detroit City FC's New Home Stadium Unveiled for 2027 USL Championship Season

Detroit City FC has announced the unveiling of its new stadium, AlumniFi Field, set to be the team's home starting in the 2027 USL Championship season. The stadium, located in southwest Detroit, will be sponsored by AlumniFi Credit Union, a division of Michigan State University Federal Credit Union. AlumniFi secured naming rights for the stadium after being a jersey patch sponsor since 2024. The construction of the stadium is part of a design plan for a 15,000-seat soccer venue, with an estimated cost of $150 million.
Detroit City FC CEO Sean Mann expressed his personal connection to the project, emphasizing the significance of building a stadium in a neighborhood he loves. The team's journey from its inception in 2012 to securing a permanent home reflects the dedication and support of its founders and investors. AlumniFi Field will mark the team's third home since its establishment, following previous seasons at Keyworth Stadium in Hamtramck.
The partnership with AlumniFi and the support from various investors highlight the community-driven approach of Detroit City FC. The stadium will be Detroit's privately-owned finance stadium and will be the only stadium paying property tax in the city. This commitment to community and growth aligns with AlumniFi's mission to support Detroit through financial education, local initiatives, and community-driven programs.
The unveiling of AlumniFi Field represents a significant milestone for Detroit City FC, marking a new chapter in the team's history. The long-term vision of having a permanent home for the club has been realized with the construction of the new stadium. The partnership with AlumniFi and the support from investors underscore the team's commitment to its community and the city of Detroit.
