Despite ongoing search efforts, two individuals remain missing in Kerr County, the hardest-hit area. The victims of the flood spanned a wide range of ages, from one-year-old James Burgess to 91-year-old Sally Grave. Governor Abbott criticized the absence of Texas House Democrats, who fled the state, delaying legislative action to aid flood victims and improve warning systems.
The Texas House of Representatives is poised to address relief measures for Hill Country residents and enhance early warning systems, pending the return of House Democrats to establish a quorum. Attorney General Ken Paxton has taken legal action to remove 13 absent House Democrats, further complicating the legislative process.
