Exploring Sex, War, and Gender Dynamics: Director Kukla's Next Project

Director Kukla, known for her debut film "Fantasy," which premiered at the Locarno Film Festival, is currently working on a new project that delves into themes of sex, war, TikTok, and the dynamics between men and women. The upcoming film explores the potential threat of a third World War and the repercussions of women worldwide deciding to stop having sex with men. While details about the new project remain undisclosed, Kukla assures that it will be a departure from "Fantasy."
In "Fantasy," a coming-of-age narrative, three outsider girls' lives are transformed when they encounter a trans woman named Fantasy. The film, described as a reflection of women's self-perception beyond societal norms, has garnered international attention. Totem Films is managing the global distribution of the movie, a collaborative effort between Slovenia and North Macedonia.
Prior to "Fantasy," Kukla gained recognition for her work on music videos and her award-winning short film "Sisters." Despite the challenges faced during the filmmaking process, Kukla's creative drive led her to expand "Sisters" into the feature film "Fantasy." Despite initial thoughts of taking a break after giving birth, Kukla is already immersed in developing her next film, a concept she conceived five years ago and is currently in the writing stage. The upcoming project is anticipated to showcase Kukla's distinct storytelling style and thematic exploration.
