Solidarity in Song: Together for Palestine Benefit Concert at Wembley Arena
A major benefit concert for Palestine, called Together for Palestine, is set to take place at Wembley Arena in London on 17 September. The event, organized by Brian Eno, aims to raise funds for Choose Love, a charity supporting Gaza with food and medical supplies. The lineup includes British and Palestinian artists such as Adnan Joubran, Faraj Suleiman, Bastille, Cat Burns, and more, with special contributions from Rina Sawayama, PinkPantheress, and Riz Ahmed.
Eno emphasized the importance of artists speaking out against injustice and coming together to show solidarity with the Palestinian people. The event's producer, Khaled Ziada, highlighted the significance of artists and communities uniting to resist and support those affected by the conflict in Gaza. The production design for the concert is being led by Es Devlin, known for her work with major artists like Beyoncé and U2. Devlin is collaborating with Palestinian artist Malak Mattar to showcase the beauty of Palestinian culture on the Wembley Arena stage. Eno, a longtime supporter of Palestine, has been involved in cultural boycott efforts against Israel in the past, engaging in discussions with artists like Nick Cave on the topic.
