2025 MTV Video Music Awards Nominations: Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, and Kendrick Lamar Lead the Pack
The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) nominations for 2025 are dominated by Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, and Kendrick Lamar. Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande are also among the top nominees for the US award show. Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, who have the most VMA wins with 30 each, have one nomination each this year in the artist of the year category. Despite not releasing albums recently, both artists have had successful tours. Lady Gaga leads with 12 nominations, followed by Bruno Mars with 11, Kendrick Lamar with 10, and Sabrina Carpenter with eight.
Lady Gaga is nominated for artist of the year and best album for "Mayhem." She is currently touring in the US. Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars are nominated for song of the year for their collaboration "Die With A Smile," as well as best collaboration, best pop, and video of the year. The 2025 VMAs feature new categories for best country and best pop artist. The awards show will be held on 7 September at New York's UBS Arena. There are no plans yet for the MTV Europe Music Awards this year, as the show is reportedly on pause.
