Brooklyn Nets Add Chinese Forward Fanbo Zang to Training Camp Roster

The Brooklyn Nets have added Chinese forward Fanbo Zang to their training camp roster on an Exhibit 10 contract. This move comes after the team signed Ricky Council from the Philadelphia 76ers last week. Zang, a 6-foot-11 player, started his basketball journey in China before moving to Florida for high school. He later joined the G League Ignite and then signed with the CBA's Beijing Ducks.
During his time with the G League Ignite, Zang averaged 5.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 22 games. He then returned to China and had an impressive season with the Beijing Ducks, averaging 14.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, and shooting 57/41/80 splits. Zang, known for his size and shooting ability, has shown promise as a power forward but has limitations in ball-handling.
This is not the first time the Nets have brought a Chinese player to their training camp, as they signed Jacky Cui last year. Zang's signing brings the Nets' training camp roster to the maximum of 21 players, including unsigned restricted free agent Cam Thomas. With 13 players on guaranteed contracts, the Nets are gearing up for a competitive preseason as they prepare for the upcoming season.
